It’s our biggest update yet! My Story 1.2 (iTunes link) adds a few much requested features, including brand new sharing options and an improved reading experience. 

Here’s what’s new: 

Sharing Stories via Email

Now you can email your stories as ePub-formatted books that can be viewed flawlessly on iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches, as well as on many eReaders and free desktop apps like Calibre and Adobe Digital Editions.

You’re one tap away from sharing your story with anyone! The ePub is attached and can be opened by another iOS device quickly and easily.

How to Share Via Email

To use the new sharing features, just follow these simple steps:

1. From the My Books view tap the new Share icon. 
2. Tap “Email Book” to open a new email
3. Type the address you’d like to send your book to and tap Send. To learn more about our recommended ePUB reader, read our support page. 

Share With iBooks

Now you can open your stories in iBooks. Add your My Story books to your library and take full advantage of all the iBooks features such as flipping through pages with a swipe or a tap, bookmarking, and adding notes to your favorite passages. The best part? iBooks fully supports audio from your story along with images and text. 

Parents, grandparents, friends, and teachers now have a simple, rich way to view their children’s and students’ stories.

How to Share to iBooks on your iPad

To use the new sharing features, just follow these simple steps:

1. From the My Books view tap the new share icon.
2. Tap “Open In” and then “iBooks”.
3. Your story will be automatically added to your iBooks library and ready for viewing.

See your stories in your iBooks library, complete with audio, illustration, and text.

Take advantage of rich ePub support in iBooks. Tap the play button in the black bar to hear your audio! 

Share with any ePub-compatible reader

You can also open your books in your favourite reader, as long as it’s compatible with the ePub format. However, we currently recommend iBooks for a full and rich experience, and we are adding support for other readers, so stay tuned and check our support page.  

Minor Improvements

We’ve added a new “ABC” button to add or edit page text. We’ve also made the reading experience simpler by taking out the ability to add text and audio in Read mode.
